The ArduCopter APM 2.8 Flight Controller is an open-source autopilot platform designed for autonomous multirotors, fixed-wing aircraft, and ground rovers. Powered by an ATmega2560 microprocessor, it features a built-in 6-axis gyro/accelerometer, an altimeter barometer, and dedicated data logging storage.
This upgraded v2.8 revision includes a critical hardware jumper to bypass the internal compass, allowing you to use a mast-mounted external compass to prevent electromagnetic interference from your motors. It supports full GPS waypoint mission navigation, automated Return-to-Launch (RTL) failsafes, and works seamlessly with the open-source Mission Planner ground control software.
