This robust 3S 40A Battery Management System (BMS) module is designed to protect, balance, and manage a 3-cell series configuration of 3.7V lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries (such as 18650 or 21700 cells). Delivering a nominal voltage of 11.1V and a maximum full-charge voltage of 12.6V, this board handles heavy current demands while ensuring maximum runtime and prolonged battery health.
Integrated Cell Balancing Circuit
Equipped with built-in balancing functionality, this board features precision resistors that actively bleed off excess voltage from higher-voltage cells as the pack nears full charge. This process ensures all three cells equalize perfectly, preventing individual cells from overstressing and maximizing the total capacity of your custom battery pack.
Comprehensive Safety Architecture
Utilizing ten low-resistance Nikos P3055LD MOSFETs, the module continuously tracks the electrical state of your cells to prevent catastrophic battery failures:
- Overcharge Protection: Stops charging when individual cells reach capacity to eliminate overheating risks.
- Over-Discharge Protection: Automatically drops the load when cell voltage drops too low, avoiding deep discharge degradation.
- Short Circuit & Overcurrent Safety: Safely disconnects the power path during sudden circuit faults or high-draw spikes above 40A.
